How to Receive Child Support Payments in Illinois?
In Illinois to receive Child Support payments as a custodial parent you can do it by direct deposit to your bank account by filling out an authorization form and faxing or mailing it to a Child Support IL office.
Another way to receive payments is by debit card or deposit with the GoProgram platform.
How to pay IL Child Support?
Paying IL Child Support by Mail
To pay child support by mail we will download the Payment Form and enter it.
Upon completion we send it to:
- Illinois State Disbursement Unit (SDU)

Payable to the Illinois State Disbursement Unit, all checks must be submitted. You must provide the following information to the Illinois State Disbursement Unit when sending payments to that department:
- The Illinois court that issued the order.
- File or case number.
- The Social Security number of the debtor.
- If there are many orders, the payment amount for each case or document number.
Illinois Child Support Telephone Payment
For Pay by Phone call to 1-866-645-6347. For new users, there is a registration procedure. Obligees may use Visa, MasterCard, or Discover to make online payments after they have enrolled. There will be a processing fee applied. The price range is: Flat Rate Fee of $14.95 for payments between $100 and $500. A percentage rate of 2.95 percent applies to payments of $500 or more. Before your payment is deposited to your Child Support account, it may take up to 7 days.
Illinois Child Support Online Payment
To make online child support payments you can do so by direct deposit by logging into the Illinois State Disbursement Unit website.
Once inside you can create an account, update your data and you can configure the payment you wish to make by direct deposit.
Remember that:
One-time enrollment cost $2.50 will be added to the first transaction made on a new bank or PayPal account as a one-time enrollment cost. In addition to the amount of the alimony payment and any transaction or convenience costs, there is also a registration fee.
PayPal Convenience Fee All payments made through a PayPal account are subject to a 2.95% convenience fee, up to a maximum of $60.00. There are fees in addition to the convenience fee.
Credit Card Convenience Fee All payments made by credit card are subject to a 2.95% convenience fee, up to a maximum of $60.00. Fees apply in addition to the child support payment.
A/C Debit Fee In Illinois, there are no transaction costs associated with debit-based child support payments.
