How To Calculate Child Support Minnesota?
The Minnesota Child Support Guidelines Statute serves as the foundation for the Child Support Guidelines Calculator developed by the Minnesota Child Support Division. The calculator is meant to be used to determine an approximate amount of child support that the court could impose in a particular situation. This calculator is not intended to replace the child support standards; it is primarily intended for informative and instructional purposes. On January 1, 2023, the Minnesota Child Support Guidelines Statute will be updated. You’ll find links to the new calculator, which is valid starting on that day.
The amount of a child support order is ultimately decided by the court. The amount of child support the court will impose is not guaranteed by the calculator; it only offers an estimate. Only families with six or fewer joint children may use the calculator to determine the baseline amount of assistance. The court may make a support order without precisely following the criteria if there are more than six joint children.
Contact your child support agency or an attorney if you have any concerns concerning the child support guidelines.

The amount of a child support order is ultimately decided by the court. The amount of child support the court will impose cannot be predicted by the calculator; it only offers an estimate. Only a minimal level of help for shared children who are six or less may be determined using the calculator. The court may decide on a child support order without precisely following the standards if there are more than six shared children.
